COMMUNITY IN THE CLOUDS
This project documents the community of people living in the hills surrounding Pittsburgh. I was interested in how landscape shapes how their community looks and functions. The neighborhood roads branch out from others with stairway shortcuts making the layout like a chutes and ladders game. The houses are stacked on top of each other like wildflowers with one’s front yard looking down at the roof of another. I was not just looking at how the community was built but how the people there had made their indent similar to a dip in a well used couch. I found it to be a sleepy community in the clouds as no one was hardly ever out but there were signs that people had been there from the decorations and objects left on porches.
